OUR COMMUNITY

ALTADENA

Altadena is an unincorporated area of Los Angeles County, California, home to about 43,000 residents, approximately 14 miles from Downtown Los Angeles and directly north of the city of Pasadena, California.

Nestled in the shadow of the San Gabriel mountains and Angeles National Forest, Altadena was first settled in the late1800s. The name Altadena derives from the Spanish alta, meaning “upper”, and dena from Pasadena.

A unique mix of rural and urban, Altadena is home to a passionate community that enjoys the benefits of living close to bustling Pasadena but that is far enough away from the Los Angeles metropolis to maintain a peaceful, small town spirit. Art. Music. Hiking. Bicycling. There is always something going on in Altadena!

The local schools are a mix of public and charter schools in Pasadena Unified School District and private schools.
